Louis Bernacchi (1846-1942) was an Australian physicist. In 1898-1900 he joined “The Antarctic Expedition” led by C. E. Borchgrevink.

 

The aim of the expedition was to spend a winter on shore for the purpose of collecting meteorological and magnetic observations covering an entire year.

 

Richly illustrated, mostly by the author’s own photographs.
