Ernest Henry Wilson’s book China: Mother of Gardens documents the importance of Chinese plant species to western gardens. Wilson collected plants widely in China between 1899 and 1910. His collections contributed much to the understanding of Chinese flora and many of his introductions are commonly seen in our gardens and cities.
